What Converts Well, and What to Check
An honest note on fidelity. This tool runs in your browser rather than using Microsoft Word's own layout engine, so no browser-only conversion can promise a pixel-perfect match for every DOCX. Visual layout renders supported section page sizes, columns, headers, footers, and breaks as full-page images and adds a covered searchable text layer only when every character and page passes safety checks. Unsupported text stays image-based, and a rendered page whose geometry does not match a declared section is refused rather than silently resized.
Searchable text keeps text selectable and preserves headings, inline styles, lists, tables, images, links, isolated manual page breaks, and supported per-section page sizes, orientation, margins, simple headers or footers, and next/even/odd section breaks. Script-specific fonts are loaded when a document uses CJK, Arabic, Hebrew, or extended mathematical symbols. Flowing columns, continuous or next-column transitions, vertical section text, complex header/footer content, NUMPAGES fields, and inline page breaks that cannot be mapped safely are refused instead of flattened.
